• Is RideShareBD free to use?

  Yes. Creating an account, posting listings, requesting rides, and reviewing partners are all free. RideShareBD does not take any commission or booking fee.

• Which cities in Bangladesh are supported?

  All 64 districts across all 8 divisions — Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Barishal, Rangpur, and Mymensingh. Dhaka has the deepest neighbourhood coverage, but every district has a dedicated landing page.

• Is carpooling safe in Bangladesh?

  RideShareBD layers several safety measures: phone OTP authentication, masked identities (only 'First L.') until a request is accepted, ratings and reviews, and safety guidelines. You should still verify the driver, share your trip details with a trusted contact, and meet at public landmarks.

• How are fuel costs split?

  Each listing's owner picks a cost mode: free, split fuel (share pump receipts), fixed price per seat, or discuss later. The platform does not process payments — you settle with your ride partner directly in BDT.

• Do I need to download an app?

  No. RideShareBD is a PWA — it works in any modern browser. You can also install it to your home screen for faster access, offline support, and push notifications. There is no Google Play or App Store app to download.

• Can I post a ride if I'm looking for one (not driving)?

  Yes. Every listing has a type: 'Offering a ride' (you're driving and have seats) or 'Looking for a ride' (you need a seat). Both appear in search results and can be filtered on the browse page.

• When does the other person see my phone number?

  Only after they accept your request (or you accept theirs). Until that point, both sides see a masked name like 'First L.' and cannot contact each other. This protects users from spam and harassment.

• Why should I carpool during the Bangladesh fuel crisis?

  Rising fuel prices make solo commuting increasingly expensive. Sharing a ride cuts fuel bills by 50–75% and reduces traffic in Dhaka, Chittagong, and other major cities. Carpooling is also more environmentally friendly.

• What vehicles are supported?

  Car, SUV, CNG auto-rickshaw, motorcycle, and microbus. Every listing specifies the vehicle type so riders can pick what suits them.

• Can I cancel a request after it's accepted?

  Yes. Both sides can cancel at any time before the ride, and the cancellation is reflected on both dashboards. Be courteous — cancel as early as possible if plans change.
